I help clients explore their relationship with food and body, addressing questions like how their body’s needs influence food choices and what role pleasure plays in nourishment. After decades of disordered eating and diet culture indoctrination, I pursued a Master of Science in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2014. In 2018, I co-founded Liberating Jasper, a group practice focused on body liberation and community healing. My approach to nutrition counseling is trauma-informed, harm-reductive, and rooted in Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles. I focus on co-creating personalized, attuned nutrition interventions for folks with a diverse set of needs. As a queer, fat, neurodiverse person, I understand how identity can affect one’s relationship to food and body, and I work to create a safe space for healing at the intersections of those experiences.
Services

Individual Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition counseling sessions are primarily focused on helping you heal your individual relationship to food and body. We use a trauma-informed, anti-diet approach to care that emphasizes nourishing the body consistently and adequately, and moving the body in ways that feel supportive. This provides a foundation to help you neutralize intrusive thoughts about food, challenge harmful diet culture narratives, and nourish your body in a sustainable way from a place of respect. Meal planning, meal support, and exposure therapies may be offered depending on your needs and desires.

Family Nutrition Counseling
At times, it may be helpful to have a family member or caregiver join your individual session to learn how to best support you as you work toward healing your relationship to food. Our nutrition counselors can help by:
-
providing gentle education about eating disorders, biological needs, and specific medical diagnoses that impact food intake
-
offering insight about your specific nourishment needs and any barriers you are encountering to feeding yourself
-
helping you and your caregiver create a nutrition care plan that works for you
